NDIS under scrutiny as ‘average’ person receiving support goes ‘completely unregulated’

3 months in news

The “average” person on the NDIS is “completely unregulated” as providers sometimes mark-up services by a tremendous per cent and people are calling for a fix, Psychologist Clare Rowe says.

“The debate here is, is the NDIS costing us too much, of course it is,” Ms Rowe told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“We know this, we know that it is increasing.

“Bill Shorten, the Minister for the NDIS has said it is costing us too much, we need to reduce it, he is aiming for eight per cent by 2026.

“This is not about the people on million-dollar plans – they are a very tiny proportion of people on the NDIS, and they are the people the NDIS was set up for.”
