Charges against Hunter Biden brings ‘substantial potential of jail time’

Seattle University’s Associate Professor Patrick L. Schoettmer says the charges against Hunter Biden do bring a “substantial potential of jail time”.

Mr Schoettmer sat with Sky News Australia to discuss the US President’s son’s charges relating to tax.

“It’s hard to tell at this point how serious the charges are given that these charges are actually charges that are fairly rarely brought to court, they’re usually played out,” he said.

“They do bring a fairly substantial potential of jail time but it’s going to be heard in California, in Los Angeles which should be a fairly friendly jurisdiction for him.

“Even if convicted I wouldn’t expect them to be a particularly long sentence.”
