Former Prime Ministers release statement agreeing on ‘Israel’s right to defend itself’

Sky News host Paul Murray says former Prime Ministers have gotten together releasing a statement, agreeing about “Israel’s right to defend itself”.

Mr Murray says all living Prime Ministers with “the exception of Paul Keating” agreed on the letter.

Tony Abbot, John Howard, Scott Morrison, Malcolm Turnbull, Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd were among the ones who signed the statement.

The statement was “absolutely clear” about Israel’s right to defend itself and had an “awareness of civilian casualties in Gaza”.

“But absolute clarity that the federal government has not quite been willing to there,” Mr Murray said.
