The capital city, known for its bustling streets and iconic landmarks, often conceals the hidden beauty of its green spaces from the casual observer. Looking beyond the visible light spectrum, British photographer Edward Wright showcases nature’s resilience and fortitude revealing the hidden impact of pollution on leaves and plants, shedding light on the unseen threats they face. The images were taken in and around Battersea and Putney and show marks on the surfaces of the leaves which he believes are caused by brake dust or exhaust fumes. These pollutants, often invisible to the human eye, have far-reaching consequences for the delicate ecosystems that persist in urban environments.
