Brazil's new president Lula da Silva is in Washington this Friday to meet with US President Joe Biden. The visit represents a warming of relations between the two countries which were strained under the former hard-right leader Jair Bolsonaro. Biden and Lula are expected to discuss a number of issues including support for Brazilian democracy and efforts to preserve the Amazon rain forest.
