UK, India free trade agreements with Australia to be ratified

Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell has provided an update on the status of two free trade agreements inked before the federal election in May.

“We’ve got both the India free trade agreement and the UK free trade agreement that are before the treaties commission at the moment,” Mr Farrell told Sky News Australia.

“Both of those processes stopped at the last election … I’ve had to re-establish the committee and re-refer those two agreements – I’ve done that.

“I’ve asked for a reporting date of the 18th of November which I believe will be met.”
