Assault rifle, revolver seized in Morvant

A series of patrols and searches in Morvant early on Thursday morning led to the seizure of an assault rifle, a revolver and ammunition.
Police said officers of the North Eastern Division were told a gun was hidden at an abandoned house in Romain Lands, Morvant.
They found an AR 15 and magazine.
No one was arrested.
Shortly after, police went to a nearby house where they found a .38 revolver and four rounds of ammunition. A 27-year-old man who was in the house at the time was arrested.
The exercise was led by Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt Ramjohn and ASP Parriman with supervision from Insp Bharath, Sgts Belilam, Murray, Martin and Cpls Martin, Ramkissoon and Singh.
