Adam Bandt ‘shocked many’ with Australian flag removal

almost 2 years in news

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Greens Leader Adam Bandt shocked many people by having the Australian flag removed from behind the lectern in a recent media conference.

Mr Bandt argued Australia had “work to do” on racism and that the flag was a hurtful symbol to many Indigenous Australians.

Discussing the issue, Mr Clennell said around 12 per cent of Australians voted for the Greens at the recent federal election.

"I'd be interested to see if all of those voters are happy with Adam Bandt's actions there," Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
