Albanese ‘all at sea’ over border protection policy Kenny

Anthony Albanese was all at sea over his stance on border protection policy that he had to be "schooled" by Scott Morrison on his own position, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.

It follows Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese on Wednesday faced off against each other as they took questions from undecided voters for the first leaders' debate of the federal election.

"As I keep saying, it is beyond belief that Labor and Albanese still don't get this," Mr Kenny said.

"He doesn't know his policy, he doesn't know the Coalition's policy, he doesn't even know the arguments he used to be involved in.

"Albanese last night tried to pretend away that debate, tried to pretend the Coalition wasn't promoting that policy.

"Little wonder the Opposition Leader is all at sea – he literally has no idea – and last night had to be schooled on his own position."
