Western Australia Deputy Liberal Leader Libby Mettam says there is arguably no government in the world that has had more time to prepare for COVID-19 than Mark McGowan’s.

Mr McGowan has said the state will rejoin the nation on February 5.

“There are also real questions of what will be achieved if the border is extended further,” Ms Mettam told Sky News Australia.

“Given the high vaccination rates here in Western Australia, we’ve no reason to expect the premier will go back on the promise to reopen on that February 5 date.”
