Sky News host Catherine McGregor says the "temperature is rising" in Australia's political system as tensions rise in the Coalition on the net zero debate.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed he will attend the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow as the Coalition discusses a net zero emissions by 2050 target.

"On the night of 18 May 2019, our Prime Minister proclaimed that he believed in miracles," Ms McGregor said.

"The next couple of days will determine whether he believes in keeping his promises.

"The fate of the Coalition literally hangs in the balance."
