Vaccinations in NSW LGAs of concern will ‘have an impact’ on COVID numbers

New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian says higher rates of vaccination, particularly in the eight LGA’s of concern, will have an impact on the decrease of COVID-19 cases.

“We know vaccination will have an impact on case numbers going down, if people in those eight local government areas in particular come forward and get vaccinated,” Ms Berejiklian said.

She said she “can’t stress enough” the state’s ability to “live more freely” on August 29 is dependent on using vaccination as a tool to get case numbers down.

“We know we're putting a lot of pressure and attention on you, but please know this is to prevent hospitalisation and to get us out of lockdown.

“I know people in those eight local government areas in particular have had a lot of pressure placed on them.”
