‘Inexperienced and uninformed’ Mark McGowan should stay out of foreign policy

Sky News host Chris Kenny says there's a reason the Australian constitution does not assign foreign policy to "inexperienced" and "money hungry" state premiers like Mark McGowan who'd "sell out" our values in desperation for China's cash.

The remarks come after the WA premier slammed the PM for standing up to China and warned his stance could jeopardise his state's trade relations with the foreign superpower.

"There is a reason our constitution assigns foreign policy to the federal government, money hungry state premiers, inexperienced in foreign affairs and uninformed by national security briefings really ought to stay out of it," Mr Kenny said.

"I don't reckon that Western Australians would be too keen on this country selling out its values and national interests in desperation for China's cash.

"Mark McGowan is just being what the communists would call a useful idiot for Beijing."
