Judge delays trial for three former US officers

almost 3 years in news

A US judge has postponed the trial of three former Minneapolis police officers charged over George Floyd’s death.

The men are being trialled for aiding second degree murder and manslaughter and the trial which was scheduled for August has been delayed until March next year.

It comes after the judge ruled he felt the need to distance the trial from Derek Chauvin’s due to the publicity surrounding the case.

All four officers are facing federal charges which allege they violated George Floyd’s civil rights during his arrest.
