Debt reduction came as a ‘distant last’ in the federal budget Andrew Bolt

Debt reduction came as a “distant last” in this year’s federal budget, according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

In the federal budget address on Tuesday night, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced Australia’s net debt will peak at $980.6 billion in June 2025.

“The problem is, that debt is debt,” Mr Bolt told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“When you spend that much money, you’re going to get a lot of good things, but in the end someone is going to have to pay for it.

“And they’ll pay even more for it if the interest rates do eventually rise, if inflation goes up and all that kind of stuff.”
