The great Bert Newton, who has sadly had part of his leg amputated, is the “last living legend” of the greatest era of Australian television, according to Sky News host Paul Murray.

Mr Newton had an infection in his toe.

Mr Newton's wife says he is in “really good spirits” and has a “big journey ahead of him”.
