Labor members spoke up ‘too little, too late’ in support of Nicolle Flint

about 3 years in news

While some in the Labor Party have finally spoken up in support of Liberal MP Nicolle Flint, it is “way too little and way too late,” according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.

Ms Flint endured vicious treatment from opponents during the 2019 campaign for her seat of Boothby.

“As we know, Nicolle has announced she is leaving parliament because she can no longer tolerate the abuse,” Mr Dean said.

“So did anyone from the Labor Party speak up for Nicolle Flint? Did any of those March 4 Justice women last week cheering Brittany Higgins hold up placards protesting about the disgusting treatment of Nicolle Flint? I doubt it”.

“In fact, rather than backing off, the trolls and the grubs have stepped up their attacks on Nicolle.”

Mr Dean noted some members of the Labor Party have “finally spoken up in support of Nicolle” this week.

“Anthony Albanese, Penny Wong, and Tanya Plibersek have also made noises condemning the campaign against Nicolle Flint,” he said.

“But this is way too little and way too late.”
