The Lions Club of Portmore recently donated custom-made hats and blankets to children of the oncology ward, Bustamante Hospital for Children.
These gifts, said a release, were knitted by the members of the club in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Here, president of the club Dr Gail Hudson (right) hands over the items to Dr Kayla Stewart (second left) of the Oncology Department, and CEO of the hospital Camile Wallen Panton (second right).
At far left is Verona Hall-Brown, the club's Sight & Health Committee chairperson. "We hope that these gifts will bring warmth and comfort to the children as we pray for their full and speedy recovery," the club president said at the brief handover ceremony.
