Australian War Memorial Director Matthew Anderson says this year’s Anzac Day is a "balance" of honouring those who have served whilst maintaining social distancing.

Mr Anderson told Sky News Australians should “honour the spirit of Anzac Day for all those who have served whilst also observing. respectfully. the need to create social distancing",

“It’s just a balance about, commemorating the day, honouring those who have served whilst being true to the directions at this unprecedented time," he said.

"A challenge but everyone would agree its one that we’ve met.

"What we are encouraging people to do is commemorate it in a way that is meaningful to them.”
