Mike Amor is a United States-based Australian journalist.Amor is United States Bureau Chief for Seven News, based in Los Angeles. He has won the Edward R Murrow National Award in the Breaking News category for his report of the rescue of a toddler after the Haiti earthquake and has been nominated for two Australian Logies, winning in 2008 for his report on the Garuda plane crash in Indonesia. He has won two Quill Awards.In a career spanning 25 years, Amor has covered many of the biggest stories in the world from Belgrade to Beijing. Mike was on the ground in New York during the 11 September attacks. He helped rescue Australian tourists trapped in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Amor has led Seven’s coverage for three US elections, including Barack Obama's win in 2008. He is also a war correspondent having covered the Libyan rebellion, the Gaza war and two Fijian coups.
