Kamla AG showing contempt to the country

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar said on Wednesday, Attorney General Reginald Armour's refusal to answer questions about his role in the Miami fraud case has further brought the office into disrepute.
Armour repeatedly referred to his press statement issued on Monday as he deflected media questions on his apparent lapse of memory over his role as a defence lawyer for former government minister Brian Kuei Tung, who has been charged with a series of corruption offences arising out of the construction of the Piarco Airport terminal project some 14 years ago.
She said Armour’s "arrogance was on full display" during his press conference... as he outrightly "refused to answer questions" regarding his apparent conflicting statements made to the Miami court.
"This refusal to account highlights his contempt for the people of this country. The AG lives in a fool’s paradise if he believes that it is business as usual with all these questions hanging over his head. The fact remains that AG Armour has brought his office and our country into disrepute. "
Persad-Bissessar said Armour has no moral authority to speak on any issue and should resign.
She said while the AG's press conference was on the procurement legislation, "the only thing the country wants him to procure is his resignation letter."
