Trea Vance Turner (born June 30, 1993) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at North Carolina State University (NC State). The San Diego Padres selected Turner in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft, and traded him to the Nationals in 2015. Turner made his MLB debut with the Nationals on August 21, 2015.Developed by the Padres and Nationals primarily as a shortstop, Turner broke into the major leagues in the 2016 season as Washington's starting center fielder, before returning to what he considers his "natural position" as the Nationals shortstop starting in the 2017 season. He has also made a handful of major league appearances at second base. He is considered one of the fastest runners in Major League Baseball, being clocked at a speed of 22.7 miles per hour (36.5 km/h) at least twice in 2016. Wikipedia
